Kids never get the same parents. Even while raised in the same house at the same time.
It is extremely common for boys and girls to experience different versions of abuse or parenting. You cannot rely on another sibling saying “oh it wasn’t like that” soooo many factors. Including age and memory. Felt like this should be said.

I don’t like many people as is so when I choose you, I’m really putting myself out there.
But I guess that’s the risk you take for vulnerability and the opportunity for friendship or romance.
