Hello UK #TTRPG folks! I need your knowledge!

What TTRPG stores do you know in the UK?

I decided to create (the start of) a compilation of stores that stock TTRPGs. Have a look, and if you know one I've not found yet, please submit it through the form linked on the doc!

Today I’ve been working on my jam entry for the folklore jam this year. I’m thinking of creating a solo TTRPG about a lance of Arthurian knights going on a quest to defeat some terror. So watch this space for that.

Today I’ve been working on a handout for a home game of my 1700s TTRPG, and I thought I’d share it with you all.

text that reads

February 15th, 1794
Today Monsieur Gaumont and I set off from Yarmouth to Hamburg; from there we are to continue on to Paris. It is hardly a favourable time for my first trip to the city. I fear my French is not as good as it ought to be, and it is rumoured that the Revolution has grown increasingly violent. I can only hope that Fabien completes his business swiftly, and we find ourselves aboard a ship back to England within the month.

March 2nd, 1794
We arrived in Paris 2 days ago, and the city is in chaos. I scarcely dare venture beyond the apartment, for my accent would surely betray me as an Englishman, and I have no wish to become the next victim of the guillotine. We have been unable to secure a servant for our lodgings, and so I have been reduced to little more than a maid. To make matters worse there is only one bedroom, meaning I must sleep upon the sofa.

March 10th, 1794
Fabien invited a Monsieur De Gaule to the apartment today so that he could collect some rocks Fabien has stored in the warehouse. The man showed Fabien some pieces of metal while I was obliged to serve them both tea. I felt more like a household servant than his assistant. It was all so humiliating. In any case, they soon left together to go …. Well, I’ve no idea where, as my French is hardly good enough to follow their conversation. So I have taken some wine from the kitchen and am presently drinking it as I write this entry.

April 2nd, 1794
Today has been most peculiar – very peculiar indeed. Fabien made the oddest of requests: he wished to take some of my blood. I dared not refuse him, for without him I would be trapped here in Paris. He filled a small flask with it and carried it up to the attic. He has been working up in that attic now for several days and has forbidden me from entering it. I am too frightened to disobey. I worry he has gone quite mad, for I can hear him pacing above, muttering to himself.

Last year, I ran a poll to get an idea of the state of the TTRPG community. This year, instead of doing a bunch of separate posts, I’m creating a Google Form to collect responses in one place.

I’m currently coming up with questions to ask. What do you think I should ask?

While writing my TTRPGs, I’ve found that I sometimes write up an idea, decide it’s bad, and just delete it. Instead of throwing those ideas away, I have started dumping them in a doc so that one day they might end up being useful.

While playtesting my 1700s TTRPG tonight, I finally got the combat system to feel like more than just “take turns punching until something dies.”
The next step is to think about/fix the million small things I found during the session.

As part of todays TTRPG writing I created a Latin prayer for the players to discover while exploring a library in a gothic castle.

I ran the second round of playtests for my 1700s horror TTRPG last night. It was a joy to spook my players with humanoid shadows and very clear Dracula / Nosferatu influence.

As part of my current 1700s TTRPG playtests, I needed some painted tablets for a church, so I created these pieces as visual aids.

Depicts a village surrounded by a vast humanoid shadow looming around it. Above the figure is a row of hanging bodies. A lone villager leaving the village and walking towards a castle. Before them on the road looms a large humanoid shadow, arms outstretched about to embrace.

Been working again today on my 1700s TTRPG and decided to treat myself by listening to the Sharpe soundtrack. If you haven’t seen Sharpe, it’s well worth a watch, especially if you enjoy those cheap yet charming TV shows.

Like my previous works, Fast Food Fascists features the manipulation of historic art. This time I used "The Milky Way" by Maximilian Wolf.

Remember, if you suck at drawing like I do, you can always edit royalty-free art instead of resorting to AI-generated wank.

I have added to my remaster of my TTRPG "Fast Food Fascists" a printer-friendly version of the PDF. So now you don't have to burn through ink to print it out.

So I have recently started reworking one of my older small TTRPGs. It’s been nice to step away from gothic horror for a while and work on a project with different themes.

I make weird little TTRPGs about Soviet trains, Arctic exploration, and folk horror. I am yet to make something that does all those at the same time.

I've been pondering a ttrpg idea this evening. A game where a medieval pope declares on their deathbed that the world is ending and the players are factions in the world trying to prevent or ignoring that it is happening. I was thinking it'd have an Arthurian / Crusaders / 28 years later vibe.

I’ve finally finished drafting all the symbols I’ll need for a upcoming TTRPG session. This is a note the group will find while exploring.
