I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I’m watching the Japanese TV series Alice in Borderland, which is about playing deadly games.
In one game, a brain teaser question was asked in Japanese, and the answer involved reading a word upside-down IN ENGLISH. People died.

Interestingly, in ARC Raiders, I’m finding that there are way more rats and murderers in Night Raids than there are in Electromagnetic Storms.
I think that that speaks to the cowardice of these players. If the loot levels are matched by DANGER, they stay away.
