It’s postdoc appreciation week and a recent study found postdoc depression & anxiety rates are rising. Why?

- underpaid
- underutilized
- overworked
- unappreciated
- lack of funding
- competitive atmosphere

Postdocs are seen as “trainees” as a way to exploit cheap labor, despite expertise.

Girl, similar thing happened to me recently. I had tickets to the 25th anniversary concert of Disturbed’s first album (the sickness) and they canceled their SF show because of a basketball game. 😭
