Dave is a grifting, rapacious, amoral slime. Corporations are anti-human, and the message Dave is poisoning his listeners with is equally anti-human. He worships at the alter of greed and the suffering of the poor.

#Novel Update:

27,642 words!

Finishing chapter 8 was slow yet exhilarating. I also took some time to assign tentative names and epigraphs to each planned chapter (44 presently). Closing in on 30k!!

#Novel Update:

We're at 24,063 words!

Not tons of progress, but the dialogue and character development from today's writing will carry through the rest of the story. I cried a bit with today's writing. (See Kermit below for reenactment)

#Novel update:

My daily sojourn to my writing place took three times as long as normal (2.5 hours) so I decided to outline the rest of the book and use what time I had productively. Excited to start chapter 8 tomorrow!

A thought from my yearly re-read of Dr Du Bois's "The Souls of Black Folk" follows:

"...it is wrong to aid and abet a national crime simply because it is unpopular not to do so."

Food for thought
#Novel word count update:

22,097!!!

If my judgment is anything to measure from, I'm somewhere between a fifth to a fourth finished with the first draft, so I'm headed to a manuscript around 85k-105k words in length. It feels great!

Figuring out my process with how to introduce my primary cast in a thorough, non-pace-shattering manner is a challenge, but it's fun all the same.

It's just a convenient number to target for myself. It comes out to 80k words in 40 days with only around 4 hours of dedicated writing per day (at my writing speed, which varies from 500-800 wpm). Last few days I've written 2.6k, 3.3k, and 1.3k, respectively
Lots of distractions and a slow day for my #FirstDraft but 1300 words isn't anything to scoff. Might get another 700 in before the end of the day to hit the magick 2k but even if not, progress is progress!

14,217.

The number of words in my manuscript after eight days of work. I'm thrilled to finally be putting in the effort and getting this #writing journey underway!

#Novel #FirstDraft
#Novel progress was good today, I now have a 4th chapter clocking in at 3.3k words for a first draft. A few weeks of comparable work and I'll be in possession of one very rough draft! #WritingProgress
#Novel update: turns out my last statement of being nearly finished with chapter three was inaccurate. 2400 words later, however... chapter 3 is in the books! #Writing #FirstNovel
Novel update: somewhere approaching halfway through chapter three! Very exciting stuff, most progress I've made in a manuscript ever

I doubt that critical examination of these things are found to be rational by, well, rational study. Such behavior fits far better under the umbrella of dogma than of analysis. (I say this, knowing full well that I'm impossibly biased and think finance is like rich people horoscopes)
Deservedness rarely factors into such moments, though your ceaseless determination to speak and act for the wellbeing of all people definitely doesn't hurt!
First draft of chapter one is in the books (ba dum 🥁). 70% of the effort is forcing myself to put something down without trying to edit mid-sentence, 20% of the effort is typing, 10% is having the idea. Very excited, about 3% of the way to a full first draft! #writing

I've known this for a while, but now with such a clear illustration from the past few hours it's worth pointing out: Trump and all who support him hate Jesus Christ, and they hate the idea of Christianity. Christian Nationalists of the US and the world over are evil. #MercyNotSacrifice
And before anyone suggests that pro hoc vice is an option, that's a ton of extra work and effort to jump through such hoops and is generally cost prohibitive for clients and lawyers such as Miss Weikal who do lots of work pro bono, etc. (This is my impression only, I am not a lawyer)
