Same design, different mock-up. I haven’t stopped trying to get people to care about Palestine or the climate crisis. Just posting some of my designs coz I’ll be starting a biz selling stuff with my designs soon. I realised I can donate more if I earn more, because capitalism. So there’s that.

I’m really loving seeing my designs in mock-up templates. A nice distraction while I do the grunt work of setting up a business to actually sell designs on stuff like wallpapers, fabrics, stationery and homewares. Wackadoo

Sometimes I see old designs of mine out of context and go “gee I like that”, then remember it’s mine, which kind of makes me think that maybe I might be ok at this.

I am celebrating the small wins. I hit 23 followers here yesterday. I used the occasion to learn how to install fonts to use on Affinity Designer on my iPad. This font is one I designed based on a handwritten version of Courier I used on the envelopes for my wedding many moons ago

I’ve been making patterns for friends of mine for a few years now. This one is for a new friend, Sarah. I’ve included moons and comets and feathers in Aurora colours as things she is kinda into (the feathers represent her chickens). Let me know below if you can see her name in the pattern.

Just realised what’s different about Bluesky! Peoples’ sentences make sense, and are mostly spelled correctly, and aren’t filled with people calling each other names! And people are looking for people with similar vibes rather than looking for someone to yell at. Yay! 🦋

Between the genocides, election results and imminent environmental collapse, a lot of people are grieving that so many people seem to be filled with hate. I wanted to remind those gentle hearts that there are still people who love.

Sometimes I do more “normal” repeating patterns, but still not normal. This space theme has a mid century Saul Bass vibe. It’s actually a bit more distopian than I like (the astronaut’s tether is broken, as is their helmet). #art

I also do word art mandalas. This one says “musk stick” using dusky pink colours inspired by the old musk stick lollies. #art #mandala

A year or so ago, I had a bout of self loathing, so this word art says “my work is crap”. It uses a hexagonal symmetry. It work look good as a shirt fabric, no? Let me know if you’re able to see/find/read the words. #art

My thing is geometric word art. So for example this design is based on a friend of mine’s name, Heidi. I then make a repeating pattern where the word is flipped and reflected. I use different kinds of geometries, this one is a fourfold square one. #art
