Tools, challenges & impact—see you there!
It was awesome to be back! I’m always so excited to start another term of learning together… #EduSky
A6: I interviewed one of our autistic students for Autism Awareness Day and he spoke about his autism being a superpower that helps him 'see around corners' - a creative and innovative mind would go a long way to doing the same I imagine #EduSkyAU
A6: I love the idea of this being a 'superpower'. AI can take you so far, but needs to be re-crafted with a creative & critical mind. Creativity will help learners to imagine the future possibilities and entrepreneurial thinking will assist them to bring this to life... #EduSkyAU
Q6: Future-Ready, Human-Centred

🔮 What role does creative and entrepreneurial thinking play in preparing learners for the future? #EduSkyAU
A5: From a leadership lens, being authentic, willing to be vulnerable and to walk the walk, to make mistakes and admit we didn't get it right, but once we know better we can do better. This gives others space to be their own authentic self #EduSkyAU
Q5: The Courage to Create

🎭 What conditions in your school or system support or stifle creative confidence in students—and teachers? #EduSkyAU
Yes! Our Year 6 students loved creating picture books to sign using Auslan for our Kindy students. An authentic audience makes such a difference to learning #EduSkyAU

So true! Students should be working on things that make them feel proud. #EduSkyAU
A4: A small thing I do as a leader is ensure that every tech. tool/app is chosen based on it's ability to be used creatively for students to show what they know & to create amazing things, not as a vehicle for consumption. Use a few things incredibly well + know that Minecraft is da bomb! #EduSkyAU
Q4: Purpose-Driven Learning

💡 How are you designing opportunities for students to be creators, not just consumers, of change? #EduSkyAU
Our team is truly amazing! This intentionality about building our team with incredible humans who love working with kids and who believe in our vision has really paid off. The. Best. Team. Ever. But it's also about showing up for each of our team, & having their back. Leadership matters... #EduSkyAU
A3: It's been a while for me, but in my Science/STEM class we focused on the SDGs as the starting point for our inquiry & STEM projects. Reflecting on what we cared about personally, and things we could change in our local context as a impetus for problem solving. Then applied some tech... #EduSkyAU
Q3: Creativity for a Better World

🌍 How can we embed SDGs meaningfully into student learning and creative action? #EduSkyAU
A2: This has been in how we recruit (using LEGO Serious Play instead of interviews), how we show up as leaders by being in the classrooms connecting & modelling +the way we have changed things up for our context in a new school without needing to do things the way we have always done #EduSkyAU
A2: I've been out of the classroom for a while, so my role sees me leading a school & creating a learning ecosystem that does things in innovative ways to ensure we have an amazing team of passionate educators who are committed to ensuring every student is the best version of themselves #EduSkyAU
Q2: Beyond the Buzzword

🚀 What does innovation look like in your classroom—and what barriers limit it? #EduSkyAU

Yes, how do we get it there? A great Q. Individuals doing amazing things in their own context makes a small ripple but how does that move to a bigger wave in relation to curriculum design at a system level. The wheels of change in our systems turn very slowly #EduSkyAU
A1: This is a tricky one. I feel like there is a lot already in our curriculum (such as cross-curricular priorities) that are overlooked simply because there is no need to report on them. I wouldn't suggest having the pressure on reporting on creativity though, so I don't really know... #EduSkyAU
It was magic - 35/36 degrees each day... Lots of swimming, paddling and reading. Hopefully you get there one day.
