Autism $peaks raised ~$34m in 2024 and spent 1% on family services and grants to help Autistic individuals. They spend approximately 25% of their budget on lobbying and another 25% on research (primarily on genetic testing and causation, i.e. eugenics). They aren’t trying to make our lives better.

Autism $peaks is the largest and most popular Autism organization (among allistics), who continues to be 100% in support of ABA. They have lobbyists who push ABA as the “gold standard Autism treatment.” It utilizes same practices as “conversion therapy,” which is currently banned in 28 countries.

ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is the “gold standard” of “treatment” for Autism, and was created by the person as “Conversion therapy” (see Lovaas) with similar techniques and goals. It’s torture that continues to have widespread support and acceptance.

btw, this chapter is my "Left Hand of Darkness blizzard section," except instead of running away from authorities my MCs are trying on a cross-continental trip to ditch their chaperone & make out but are mostly failing, to their great frustration. And since they're so brainwashed that their hate is love, they simply will not and cannot hear that they DO hate, because their logic is insulated from outside influence by being assured that anything that challenges those premises are temptation and tainted by sin so they can't be valid.

A reminder: Christian conservatives have their first allegiance to their version of God.

A Constitution and a rule of law derived from that is only valuable to them insomuch as it enables them. "God First" is what they fully and truly mean.

I have opened

the computer, sorted out kobold files for future saucy 'bold posts, and, yes,

OPENED MY BOOK FILES 🎉🎉🎉 And reoriented myself with where I left off and why there are three currently important files instead of 1. 😂 (I was partially through a file that has a subset of edits.)

I've been late on the #LGBTQWriteaThon s because I'm hoping to have news.

I think some depression has caused anxiety over it, and the anxiety has parlayed itself into executive dysfunction.

Every night I'm left hopeful that the next day will be The One where I crack open the file, and it isn't.

Israeli settlers continue to wage war on Palestinians in the West Bank and elsewhere. They are breaking into people's homes, stealing their stuff, trashing their homes and sometimes kidnapping and killing people. This is happening NOW. People should know this.
