patron divine of Lifeblood.

(A #WIP, verily. It will be long before I get to see him complete. Still! Excited to finally show him, heehee~!!)

A dragon of many names over many eras over many, many worlds, Galpharos is a dragon divine, whose primary sphere of influence is the flow of Lifeblood (and so, all the realms it courses through). In brief terms, his story is thus: He was originally born a mortal (and proved to be markedly humble, in so being), though the circumstances surrounding his birth had marked him as being destined to lay claim to the very skies themselves. Born wingless to a scholarly tribe of winged dragons, in scale of alabaster and horn of ebony, his emergence coincided with the first glint of the there-fabled Blood Star; even in his early days, he'd proven to adapt and grow in mind and body far beyond what his apparent origins would normally allow. His path to ascension first saw him claim the high scholar of his tribe, the only one who truly knew of his origins (and who would become his high priest in paradise). He next claimed his home world, seeing it safely tucked away within his very being, his soul serving as its universe, as eternal loving sanctuary. Following that, he took to the cosmos, covering distance in speed and surge alike, seeking the coveted light of the blood star that once blessed - and now beckoned for - him; and finding that its light was born of the remains of their world's Lifegiver: the originator, the one who cast away its own lifeblood, that Creation itself might be blessed with Life and Being. Those very blessings, their essence, their power, Galpharos went on to inherit and claim as His, becoming in turn a Lifegiver of his own, thrice magnified, and growing yet still. Over countless eons since, he has watched over creation, feeding it light and life (the paradise within him, and he himself, blooming yet stronger, in turn). Most often, he is keen to simply observe. Though, on occasion, he finds fun in mingling with the mortals. Be it as Head of many a Pantheon, or masquerading as a mortal. And, perhaps, imparting blessings of his own, while so doing.) One of the biggest things I wanted to get right with Galpharos' design were his horns. After all, it is only fitting for a dragon divine to have a great crown of horns to match, all large and sprawling. Spanning from the front, and spiraling from the sides. I am, indeed, quite happy with how they've been turning out! (At this point, at the very least!)

Good sir Olvus, in all his ambient and subtly enormous glory. It was honestly really fun trying to get his shapes flowing, simple as they are in their enormity. And I opted to not go for in-goop reflections and refractions on his form, as I happened to really like how... cozy and calm his display felt thus. I would handily sleep upon his form like this (not that he'd have any issue of room, given his over-planetary scale, mind). He is friend. He is big. He is blue. ... ...Da boo dee. Da boo dah. Enjoy, friends.

"Of Surface Realms and Riftplanes"

A little project I've been meaning to see through for a bit now: how the world in which Q resides works, as seen through a (tad rough) physical map.

The surface realms of the world that Q dwells upon, comprised of six separate continents and land formations, and a vast body of water connecting them all. Given that this be a physical map (though hemisphere-styled), the realms' height and depth, plains, mountains, the seas and trenches therein, and notably-large rivers and lakes are all on display. Artistic considerations decided upon having Olvus serves as the background (with his sun-gaze scaled down for display purposes), while G (who is to scale) provided a rough reference of how he scales as the Moon of the realm. Some notable locations and landmarks of note, include: -The Dragonspire Mountains, bearing the tallest peaks of the realm, from which many a great lake and river form. They house the Deepcast Ravine between their opposing faces. Said ravine (also known as Dragonspine Ravine and Dragon's Maw, among other names) boasts of by and large the greatest and most steep drop on the surface. -Attached to the southern side of those mountains is the fabled Dragonpaw Plateau (its name derived from its telltale three-clawed shape), a vast expanse of lush mountain plains hailed for their fertile earth. The plateau also boasts of some of the most impressive waterfall displays in the realm (one of the great Dragonspire rivers found its way flowing between two of the 'claws' of the plateau, resulting in the Dragonclaw Falls -- a vast, *vast* array of waterfalls from three directions, forming their matching Dragonclaw Lake down below. -One of the southern continents bears the Giant's Rising, another great mountain range, characterized from its one-sided, almost wave-like incline. -The Titan's Basin, forming a continent on its own, is comprised of a ring of mountains surrounding the only other massive body of water in realm that is not the open seas. -There is also, of course, the land of the Blue Mountains, where the Great Tree rises and Q himself lives, on a small continent just south of the Boundless Sea. (In continuation of the worldy workings here...) In the far north lies a continental archipelago, characterized by a ring of eight islands, surrounding two steeply towering spires of earth. In these lands, sparse (but devoted) tribes of ancient folk reside, attuned to nature and worshipping Light and Darkness. The only other occurence of naturally-rising spires is to the south, 'round the second-deepest waters of the surface. Many other landmarks could be described herein, but the main thing to be stated is this: the world is *far* more dense than meets the eye. That, due to the existense of the so-called Riftplanes lining its surface. The Riftplanes form sections of the world, usually encompassing a single continent (the notable excepetions being them cleaving a continent in twain, by lining the Deepcast Ravine, and an island to the south that serves as a bridge between the continents there). Their main property is this: passing through a riftplane leads into different realms entirely (aside from periods of low/high Rift volatilty). Such realms may hold their own riftplanes, as well. For this reason, most maps of this world will likely be either of the Surface Realms, as seen here (since they are the only cohesive geographical set 'visible' from the 'outside'), or regional, charted within their own Riftplane bounds. Trying to chart every single realm within, especially given their ever-growing number and connections, would be a fool's errand. For his part, though, Olvus himself (and G, to a lesser extent) is entirely aware of all the realms, surface or rift-bound, at any time. And his existence is also a necessary part of it all: -His sungaze shines through all riftplanes that are in his sight, at any given time (so they all see the same sky). -Holding the planet within his belly prevents density-gravitational collapse, and instead allows a comfortable level of gravity across all realms. -Plus the whole "keeps G's eldritch rays contained" thing. It's fun.
