Every single game goes through insanely divided launches now, and if they don't the get a shit ton of backlash hate. Once people move onto the next launch it's insane how reasonable the takes tend to get. Even just going back to the PS3/360 will yield tons of hidden gems.
Advice for all "gamers" out there: go play a video game no one is talking about anymore, something like an old Gameboy Color game lost to time and online discourse. Nurture your personal connection to the medium of games/form opinions unaffected by what other people online say.
