Yes. It is not the right that has evolved. It’s liberals’ ability to identify racism has become slightly enhanced, but not enhanced enough that they’re going to do anything about it or interrogate the white supremacy inherent to America.

At the time people saw the cryptonazis for exactly what they were. Rush Limbaugh was parodied in Videodrome by giving him a slightly more Nazi patina than he already had. The Blues Brothers made the cops literal Nazis and that was a mainstream movie. People knew exactly what was going on.
