NEW: The 16th annual PRRI American Values Survey, released in partnership with @brookings.edu, finds that majorities of Americans say that Trump's cuts in funding for health care (60%), implementation of new tariffs (54%), and increase in funding for ICE (52%) have gone too far.

A new PRRI report explores Americans’ views on political violence, protesters, Trump’s Jan. 6 pardons, and more, finding that two-thirds of Americans (67%) believe political leaders’ failure to condemn violent rhetoric contributes a lot to violent actions in society.

Breaking new research from @prri.org today on political violence and hate. We find that only about half of Republicans (51%) and white evangelicals (52%) now believe that hate symbols like Nazi flags or swastikas contribute a lot to political violence.

Trump said he believes civil rights era protections led to white people being “very badly treated.”
PRRI finds that 39% of Americans agree that “Today, discrimination against white Americans has become as big a problem as discrimination against Black Americans and other minorities,” 57% disagree.

The 2025 PRRI AVS finds that 56% of Americans have little or no confidence in ICE, compared with 42% of Americans who say they have some or a great deal of confidence in ICE.
Republicans are more than twice as likely to have confidence in ICE (79%) than both independents (37%) and Democrats (16%).

The Indiana Senate voted against a congressional redistricting plan supported by Trump.
According to the PRRI, Indiana residents lean Republican (36%), with 21% identifying as independents, and 20% as Democrats, while the Indianapolis metro area is 34% Republican, 30% Democrat, and 19% independent.
