Did Youtube make the 'Subscriptions' button a two-step process for a couple of days then revert it, or was I part of some A/B testing?

I bought an old book which arrived today. Inside the front cover is a note to a Mr S R Jones from the author, which was a nice surprise.

Does anyone remember synergy, originally for Linux, the little application that allowed you to share a keyboard and mouse over the network?
It still exists but good grief, it's as corporatively shit as it could be now. Are there any alternatives? I want to remotely control a Windows laptop.

When I woke up this morning I noticed some 'stuff' on the floor next to the cat bed. Upon closer inspection it looked like 4-5 rather large spider legs, some were over 3 inches long! I think the cat must have eaten it overnight, grim. How long has that been in the bedroom?!

Recently decided to re-rip all my CDs to FLAC. I'm using EAC and, annoyingly, it seems some of the older Autechre CDs have some read errors :( No damage or scratches to the CDs though, I guess they're just deteriorating.
