We need more motorless and quiet lakes for the public across the Adirondacks. The State should add the lakes and ponds within Whitney Park (adjacent to the William C. Whitney Wilderness area).

*The estate of John Hendrickson, who passed away last year, is in the process of selling Whitney Park.
Of the 200 largest lakes in the Adirondacks: 114 are open for motorboating, 55 are private with no public access, and 31 are motor-free. 12 of the 31 motor-free lakes are inaccessible and involve a lengthy hike carrying one’s boat leaving only 19 motor free lakes accessible to the public
Little Tupper Lake is one of the largest motor free lakes in the Adk Forest Preserve. Despite what Mr. Hendrickson* said (& others have repeated) about State mgmt of the W.C. Whitney Wilderness area incl. Little Tupper Lake these are beautiful forever wild lands & motorless waters free to the public
Oops - sorry about that ! Thanks for letting us know. How about this?
