One name I'm watching at AFL is Nationals starter Jake Bennett. The 6'6" lefty has shown off some serious swing and miss stuff over 2 starts, striking out 13 in 8 innings and generating 11 whiffs of 27 swings.

Serious major league tools - he’s maintained a .389 OBP through his first 33 games. If Beavers can up his hard hit rate to closer to what he was showing in AAA, I think he could easily be a 3/4 win player

Red Sox: Liam Hendriks
A six-time Roberto Clemente Award nominee, Hendriks has continued making significant off-the-field contributions in his first season with Boston. After beating Stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2023, he has remained dedicated to meeting with cancer patients during homestands and while traveling with the team. He has worked with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Young Adult Program to provide VIP experiences at Fenway Park for cancer patients and survivors. He is a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community, has appeared in an ad campaign for Stand Up To Cancer, supports the Lymphoma Research Foundation and is passionate about animal rescue.

White Sox: Liam Hendriks
What more is there to say about Hendriks? Whether it’s the work he’s done hosting events for hospitalized children and health care workers to the time spent organizing the White Sox’ Pride Night as a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community or the outreach he did while recovering from Stage 4 lymphoma, Hendriks has made outreach part of his identity as a ballplayer. Hendriks, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in January, underwent chemotherapy in the offseason and made his 2023 debut on May 29.

Liam Hendriks has been nominated for 7 Clemente awards. Here are OFFICIAL MLB press releases from 2022, 2023, 2024, and finally 2025. Any mention of Hendriks’ allyship with the LGBTQ+ community has been erased this year and replaced with military mentions. Pretty clear messaging from MLB here!
