Texas faculty testify against bills to screen universities’ curriculum for “ideological” bias
Lawmakers say several bills under consideration Thursday would “address the unchecked authority of faculty.” They would expand university governing boards’ oversight powers.

Cool. My students this term in a pandemic arts class are designing their own memorials
A 25-foot, stainless steel monument, titled “COVID-19 Memorial Monument of Honor, Remembrance & Resilience,” will be built on Chicago’s Near West Side this year to honor those impacted by the virus. trib.al/gzH0pD4
Chicago will be home of global COVID-19 monument to honor victims, front-line workers
The illuminated, 25-foot stainless steel monument in the Illinois Medical District could be completed later this year.
