Their invaluable work ensures that these stories are never forgotten, reminding us that history is not just something to be remembered, but something to learn from and build upon.
A heartfelt thank you to Liverpool Museums for their dedication to preserving the rich and complex history of the LGBTQ+ community.
It is crucial to remember the battles fought that have shaped our journey. What we have today is not an entitlement, but a responsibility—to honour the past, empowers the present, and safeguard the future.
We are committed to push boundaries, champion representation, and ensure that the voices of all minority groups are heard and represented.
At PRiSM, in collaboration with RCS England and other surgical societies, we are proud to be ambassadors for positive change, advocating for fairness, equity, and inclusivity in surgical training and beyond.
Whilst also remembering that progress is never permanent - it must be protected, nurtured, and continually advanced in a constantly evolving world, where visibility, consideration, and recognition are never guaranteed.
This #LGBTQ+ History Month we celebrate our vibrant, joyful and diverse community. We honour the resilience and courage of the generations before us, who fought relentlessly for the rights we now have.
