If you want your murder to be met with universal declarations of shock, sadness, and admiration, don't devote your life to denying medical coverage to the sick and injured.

Well, I mean, that’s what they mean, isn’t it?

Remember in 2019 when Twitter had to scuttle their hate speech filtering because it was catching too many prominent Republicans?
I think it speaks volumes that right wingers criticize bluesky for being “liberal” and “left wing”, when it’s really just that hate speech isn’t allowed.

Not all of the available block lists are what they look like. The one mentioned here came up for me in recommendations, but I couldn’t see it because I’d been blocked by the owner. (Picture rather than link in case you can’t see the original post. )

Whoever publishes the eventually leaked report should just imply Alito gave it to them. With his track record of likely leaks, who could challenge that claim?
NEW: According to @cnn.com, the House Ethics committee just voted on whether to release the Gaetz report, and the republicans voted to protect Gaetz. I'm wholly unsurprised they would bend the knee to Trump.

Our Reply: Echo chamber? Nah, we prefer to call it surround sound for facts.

Automated block lists and content labeling, what now?! Total experience changer. Love it.
This is a good block list. Best part is that as MAGA are added, once you subscribe and block all, all the new adds are blocked, too. bsky.app/profile/did:...

we fixed acid rain! we fixed the ozone layer! we beat polio! we’ve rescued scores of species from the brink of extinction! the despair many of us feel about climate change isn’t that it’s too big to fix. it’s that we know it is fixable but we’re being thwarted by greedy ghouls at every turn.
The other day I was like “you know something we heard a lot about as kids was acid rain, why don’t we hear about it anymore”

TURNS OUT we fixed it???

Donald Trump didn't want to wear a mask because it might smudge his makeup, so the Republican Party helped him kill a million Americans.

That's the GOP in a nutshell.

Aight - it’s been a week. I totally enjoyed “President Sheridan and the Multiverse of Zathras” for the semi-standalone semi-elseworlds roller coaster ride that it was.

Even being what it was, it wasn’t flawless. But it was a lovely visit with old friends on an musing adventure.
I have a fun quippy B5:TRH comment, that’s only trivially a spoiler (beyond awareness of the premise), and I can’t find it anywhere else online. So I think it’s original. But I’ll wait a bit before posting in open text.

Every single Republican voter puts work into powering this machine designed to destroy our nation.
HUGE: "DeSantis has rendered 3.3 million Floridians without their elected choice of prosecutor. That means that more than 15% of the people of the state of Florida have had one of their elections nullified unilaterally by the governor."

New, at Law Dork:
Ron DeSantis is running for president but doesn't believe in democracy
With his two prosecutor suspensions, DeSantis has nullified the votes of more than 15% of Floridians. Also: The latest on Clarence Thomas's rich men.

Every single Republican voter puts effort into supporting and empowering this coalition of sworn enemies of our nation and their generations long campaign to undermine and destabilize our every institution.
Robert Foster, who called for trans rights supporters "to be lined up against a wall before a firing squad to be sent to an early judgment," won the DeSoto County GOP primary Supervisor District 5.

He has no Democratic opponent in the general election.

Went out to dinner last night in town by the local cineplex. The Fandagnum ticket service said the vast majority of remaining a seats for shows of Barbie for the evening (16 shows IIRC) were sold. The people watching was a delight - lots of pink and adults and kids, all dolled up for the show.

One of the biggest problems of my wide-brimmed hat and playing on my phone when I’m out on a walk - is that I occasionally get smacked in the head by a low branch.

This one in particular gets me every couple of months - frequent enough to remember after it happens, but not quite to watch out.

What a welcoming experience! I got “we’ll actually’d” at for the algorithm comment on my first post, and then blocked for pointing out that he was doing more or less what he was saying didn’t happened. You all can prolly judge the exchange, but being blocked, I can’t see it anymore. #sadtombone

I’m too old and tired to be scouring a sparsely-populated new platform for hard to find connections. Holler when you’re here, eh?

[Also, feeding the algorithm and being a good consumer citizen by providing content.]
