legitimately one of the nicest experiences i have is interacting with the old gays, at queer events in my conservative town. it reaffirms that our community has existed long before we're born, and that we can grow old while being ourselves

he lifted his head to watch their approach. the movements didn't scream threat just yet, and so he stayed put, leant up against the wall and mask pulled up enough to smoke a fag.
he considered the soldier for a moment, let the silence drag on, and seeing nothing but an earnest smile and illfitting clothes, none of the usual behaviour he'd scare off, accepted with a jerk of his chin. text end.
