This is the hate symbol. It is based on the sun rune in the pre-Roman runic alphabet that makes the "s" sound. (The whole runic alphabet has been adopted by hate groups.) Yes, I've seen probably equal numbers of Black women* on both sides (it's problematic vs. shut up and enjoy this fun) but some lines have definitely been worse than others.

Yes, the power grids globally are looking bad (increased use from A/C from climate change + data/tech use, crumbling infrastructure) but DST mostly has negative public health effects and little to no energy impact. The start of DST can be nice for folks with later schedules and seasonal depression!
