We are saddened to hear about the death of BBC Top Gear presenter Quentin Wilson. The motoring journalist passed away today, his family said, describing him as a 'true national treasure', who 'brought the joy of motoring, from combustion to electric, into our living rooms'.📷quentinwillson.co.uk

So, 2025 marks the Polo's 50th birthday and #VW has created the 'Edition 50' to mark it. Ten years ago, the #Polo 'Original' celebrated the model's 40th birthday. Special features included Honey Orange Metallic paint (a CrossPolo shade), 'Original' badges, LED lights and 'Portago' alloys.

A real privilege for the G40 to get a spot on Pall Mall with Volkswagen UK marking 50 years of the Polo at the St James Motoring Spectacular. It’s a huge event, too. Something like 10,000 visitors.

It’s not every day you get to display your car at the prestigious Pall Mall in London, but yesterday my Polo took its place alongside VW UK heritage press fleet and other owner cars as part of the St James’s Motoring Spectacle 50th anniversary #VWPolo display. We even enjoyed some sun! #Polo50

On a more modest note, some more random #Paris car spots, including a four-door #Fiat 500e sold in selected lhd markets; a MkI #Audi A1 with bodykit (no Citycarver badge); and an electric #Renault Twingo ZE. Oh, and a not quite so modest #AstonMartin Vanquish.

As well as the new, all-electric #Renault 5 models we saw in the Renault Défilé, we saw a fair few out in the wilds of the Parisian streets (including a Roland Garros and an #Alpine A290). The success of the car no doubt borne out here by urbanites bowled over by its chic looks and #EV power. #R5

On our way home from our European city break today, but while in Paris earlier in the week, we went to the #Renault flagship store at 53 Champs-Élysées. Called the ‘défilé’, meaning ‘parade’ the three-storey building has a spiralling ‘catwalk’ that shows off both new and classic models. #R4 #R5
