Will just never align with modern architecture values. These all deemed “masterpieces” on university campuses by architect magazine.

All uglier than any random Old Main on all pre-war built campuses. www.collegetowns.org/p/what-is-ho...

Idiot driver misses exit, makes a U-turn on freeway, drives wrong direction, and FILMS it all!

This should be instant ban from driving for life. No exceptions. Take the bus now. Walk. No driving again.

I rag on California but it's only because we squander so much here. My morning walk today reminds me of Tuscany.

I guess “crash out” is just going to be a phrase we all suddenly start using. Goodbye “meltdown,” “go nuts,” “went berserk,” “lost it,” “freak out,” “flip out,”“wig out,” and “blew up.”

Also my condolences to “crashing out” meaning to go to sleep.

After today’s performance, I think Japan has it correct. Shohei Ohtani needs to be absolutely everywhere.
Professors on Substack are challenging the old entrenched journal publishing system (why wait a year or more when we can publish something today?). We are also blending into journalism (does this mean I don’t need IRB?!).

My thoughts:

Happy 1st Birthday to College Towns
I reflect on a year of weekly writing, running an academic Substack, and the future of the site.

Been running College Towns for a year now. This is the best thing that I have written.

MIT has rejected Trump’s Compact offer. Interestingly, in the rejection, the university notes, “And in service to the nation, we cap enrollment of international undergraduates at roughly 10%.”

Was this public info?

This tracks with my own analysis. I am quoted here:

MIT rejects Trump’s preferential funding offer
MIT is the first US institution to reject Trump’s preferential funding offer that included limits on the university’s international students.

What do you think of these micromobility fleets? Certainly better than giant delivery trucks but also doesn’t quite fit the bike lane. www.collegetowns.org/p/grokipedia...

If your school zone infrastructure doesn't look like this, maybe it's time to start asking why not.
