Frustrating news about the NDAA: weapons manufacturers have successfully lobbied to remove #RightToRepair provisions from the NDAA.

This is a setback, but we want to be clear: we'll continue fighting for the Pentagon to prioritize service members.

We've got some suggestions for how to improve the 2026 NDAA. From repealing outdated war authorizations and strengthening oversight, it's essential that Congress take action.

Tune in to Greg Williams' conversation about this on @federalnewsnetwork.com:
POGO has new recommendations to improve the 2026 NDAA before it's finalized
Of the 750 recommendations Congress had for how the Defense Department is run, none had repealing any statutes "with military acquisition," Greg Williams said.

We’ve said it time and time again: sending National Guard troops into our streets is not making you safer. These deployments need to stop, and Congress must put a check on this serious abuse of executive power.

Our thoughts are with the two National Guardsmen shot in DC today and with their families. No one should face harm for simply doing their job. But more troops on DC streets isn’t the answer. This tragedy demands care, not escalation.

Deploying More Troops to D.C. Won’t Make Servicemembers or Residents…
We are sending thoughts to the National Guardsmen shot today in D.C. in an act of senseless violence, while also pushing back on the announcement to deploy 500 more National Guard troops to the city.
