Wow, Julia, how fabulous! Richly deserved, many congratulations. I hope it's really fruitful for you. x
For #WorldMenopauseDay: my poem 'Sea Gooseberries', which was highly commended in the 2022 Ginkgo Prize and is included in my V. Press pamphlet '(m)othersongs'. The poem merges ecological fragility with body crisis, and was inspired by witnessing a mass beaching in Norfolk.
Two stunning poems celebrating women in STEM. ✨
Today is Ada Lovelace Day, a celebration of women in science, technology, engineering and maths. I’m proud to share my poem 'Ada Lovelace' and a sonnet to Caroline Herschel, published in the London Review of Books.

Wow, these are amazing! The sonnet (in all its wonderful variations) is my favourite form, and these are so vibrant and beautifully constructed. I particularly love astronomical poetry, so was more drawn to that initially, but that final clever line of the Lovelace poem is 🔥. Thank you for sharing.

Oof, 'plump and feral as a grass-fed lamb'... what a treat to lose myself in the vivid, embodied world of this gorgeously green-woody poem. Thanks so much for sharing, Shivanee. 💚

Thank you so much, lovely Julia. You are always unfailingly kind. x
Life has been quite tough lately, and I'm often sad or stressed at the moment. However, I managed to find some small pockets of peace over the long weekend, and made these little pumpkins from air dry clay! I find crafting very soothing. What uplifting activities help you to ease your stress? x
In May I had the lovely honour of winning 1st prize in the inaugural Kathryn Bevis Memorial Poetry Prize. I'll be reading my poem at the Zoom launch of @thealchemyspoon.bsky.social on Friday 29th August and I'd love to see any poet chums there if you're free. xx
