Unlike the higher potential and reusability of regional forms that don't require Gamefreak to make something "better" but just reimagined or different. And also have a much lower risk of breaking the game entirely, and doesn't require some silly mcguffin for them to function and they just exist.

People hyping up expectations for a sub par form purely because of the fact that it exists for a popular pokemon a lot of people like. Which ultimately does nothing for the pokemon itself because megaevolutions can and often WILL just be turned OFF in the next game.

It's funny that apparently in pokemon, public transport is SO GOOD that cars are considered nigh but redundant because wherever a train can't take you, a pokemon or even a simple bike ride can.
