He is the opposite of King Midas… everything golden about the USA turns into shit. What a shame.
Indeed. 😳 That said, I’m looking forward to what Dutch comedian Arjen Lubach is going to do with this ‘metaphor’… We all need a laugh, or else despair is likely to set in.
But that would not have been nearly as ‘manly’, right? Or go a long way to satisfy his massive ego… #smalldickenergy
Making America great again? Well, it is one way to decrease the deficit, but at much greater cost in the long term. I don’t quite understand it. Our government in the Netherlands never shuts down when parliament disagrees on budget issues. They just carry on as before until the issues are resolved.
Who are these horrible people working for ICE?! This is outrageous.
Ah yes… a Mar A Lago North would also make sense. It must be terribly inconvenient that he can’t meet with as many willing ‘donors’ while he is at the White House…
If this is an accurate picture, then that structure is definitely not a ballroom. It is far too large. It rather reminds me of a courthouse. He’s building a tribunal, not a ballroom.

“Trump’s U.N. speech was a textbook example of what’s come to be known in science communication circles as the ‘gish gallop,’ wherein anti-science promoters attempt to overwhelm you with a fire hose of plausible-sounding but fundamentally false claims and talking points.” — @michaelemann.bsky.social
I’m a climate scientist. Trump’s U.N. address is a fire hose of misinformation
OPINION: “What Trump is really doing is advancing a plan laid down years ago by plutocrats and polluters. And making a mockery of our country as he does so,” Michael E. Mann writes.

He’s not wrong… the people have enormous power as consumers, look at how fast Disney made a 180 degree turn about Jimmy Kimmel… It may turn out all right in the end, but you have a fierce struggle ahead of you.

Phase 3 of Trump’s attempt to rig the midterms for an autocratic takeover of the Republic. He says he will sign an executive order on how states must conduct elections and they are required to follow it.

Well of course. That type of AI is basically an enormous web crawler, but its massive reach is no guarantee for correct answers. Quite the opposite in fact. And at some point this over-hyped AI bubble is simply going to burst.
Gevalletje ‘wie met pek omgaat…’?
Putin got a nice propaganda story to take home, and another reprieve from heavy sanctions. Also, the bromance is back on and concerning the war in Ukraine, the ball is again in Zelenskyy’s corner. Well played, Putin.
Exactly. Trump was in his usual showman mode, all pompous empty words and promises that will never materialize. He planned this summit as a distraction from #Epsteingate. Result - a lot of tax dollars spent and Zelenskyy is basically back to square one.
*cough* This is how we in the Netherlands repair any sort of bike in a bike repair shop. 😜

The recent DOE climate science report misrepresents the work of many researchers. Carbon Brief asked those cited to review the parts of the report where their work was used, and we collectively found 100+ misleading or false statements: interactive.carbonbr...

Do not trust AI or ChatGPT-5 to do the most basic things like labeling a picture of the hydrologic cycle. Here's what it gave me.
(Evaporation arrow pointing into the ground. Both surface water and the "ocean" labels underground. Transpiration arrow coming from the #water surface, not plants...]
Big love for Anchorage, Alaska! 😀👍
Yep, that sums it up nicely. It is a spectacular train wreck and the world and the planet are the losers.
Incoming message… all show, no results. In short, a lot of taxpayer money wasted on a pompous nonsense meeting that was meant to distract from #Epsteingate. And poor Zelenskyy… back to square one.
Ah, now the picture makes me even more sad. It must have been a beautiful spot. It’s disheartening to know that this already happens in London, which is on the same longitude as the southern part of the Netherlands. The reports about wildfires in France and Spain make me dread the future.

Why is it so barren? Does nothing grow there?
