Just a quick reminder, for those interested in listening, that Upon A White Horse is Radio 4's Book of the Week – and the first part will be broadcast at 11.45am today.
I'm thrilled that Upon A White Horse is going to be Radio 4's Book Of The Week. The first episode, which is on Stonehenge, will be on December 8 at 11.45am – and then there will be a reading from a different part of the book every day up to and including December 12. I hope you'll enjoy listening.
I’m knitting this Sophie scarf holding one strand of mohair with one strand of sparkles, and it’s really not all that enjoyable to knit. I’ll be glad when it’s done. It just doesn’t feel nice to knit with although the scarf itself feels like it will be cosy and warm. 🧶

Too funny. 😭I’ve come within 15 rows of finishing the dark coloured scarf to realise I’ve gone off in the wrong direction and I’ve had to frog that entire half of the scarf. Which is what comes of not reading the pattern carefully having knitted one and thinking I know what I’m doing. 🧶

A friend is looking for someone to finish this knitting project that her mum was doing when she passed away. It’s a poncho. I thought it was just the neck, but actually it’s only half done and the whole back needs to match this, and then a big cowl neck. I think it’s beyond my skill level 🧶…

Fewer hedgehog visits last night. I think they know a cold snap is on the way. Hopefully they are nesting warm and safe in the hedgehog houses around the garden. 🩷

Current WIP - well - it’s three scarves. One is a Rowan (cerise one ball shawl) one is a Louisa Harding Strickmich! In a multi coloured yarn, and one is a mohair and glittery thread held together Sophie scarf in a Rico yarn. These are all Christmas gifts I think. 🧶#showmeyourknits

Wonderful book. I’m lost in these stories of ancient history. I wouldn’t have known about this book but for my Toppings subscription- they always choose well!
