He definitely needs a rest between us a Sweden it’s been none stop football without must rest. Amazing what a goal will do. Media driving the narrative though as Isak and Wirtz getting free rides. It’s not that bad yet. If conversation is the same in another 5-6 weeks then perhaps.
We’re too structure based so far for him - yet to excel.
This is a game where the bench will be key. We’re trying to win this in 2nd gear. Have to be careful.
But, but, but, he’s a CB apparently.
Dire Arsenal performance if we are real. Lethargic, no tempo. Real post international break flow killer. Sloppy.

Need freshness second half and more intent.
Is it pricey in Tallin?
Ludicrous ticket pricing. A game played on the streets that now cannot be watched unless wealthy.

Hope it collapses. FIFA are a disgrace.
Either way. That first half was none existent. If we played that 45mins like we did in the 2nd we win. Would have easily created more. He needs to find partnerships quickly, that midfield was too pragmatic and industrious. Hopefully never again.
I think Arteta wants to control narratives from the media and shove them back at people. Either way, we saw earlier subs than I thought would happen. Let’s hope he’s has learned from it, certain players cannot play together as too similar in style. That midfield was too pragmatic and Industrious.

I’m guessing that we won’t see pundits berating Pep for not going for the win, time wasting from minute one, diving at the merest suggestion of contact, taking off his CF, putting on all the defenders etc.

That really felt like a game that Arsenal and Mikel Arteta just could not lose.

A special goal to equalise late on, but the way we dominated Man City with that second half performance, with the players we had on the pitch, will be a source of regret.

We should be braver from the start.
I hope Arteta sees that domination of City that 2nd half, seeing them resort to defending with 5 at the back. And stop being so cautious. When we play and dominate teams we smother them. They were there for the fucking taking.
I have to listen to podcasts at 1.5+ speed, my brain cannot handle the slow talk some people do. I need all the information NOW. No time for patience 😂
They need something fresh. Between the Lines pod, Flav has gone into good detail & @hltco.bsky.social covered a fair bit over the time. Good podcast on other clubs other than Arsenal. Plus refreshing from a spurs and Palace perspective on the league.
I’m all for a slight alteration in style/System, getting Eze and Saka closer to goal and more inside if means full backs offering the width on occasions or that maverick approach, like PSG. Times last season with injuries we did see 4-2-4, maybe Havertz alongside Gyokores.
Going to be a very different World Cup, because dynamic pricing can get F’ud. I done a Euros game last year €200 standard price. Plus hotel, travel, food, beers proper adds up 😂
Really good comments in here, good read. Very interesting points too 👍
Glad you mention the northwest thing. I’ve been saying it for years, broadcasters and even people on the panels are very NW bias. Only have to look on the Overlap, TNT, very few ex pro’s. And the interchange is none existent. Like we’d have a rival co comment out game cementing a narrative.
Exactly. Like next summer, say we’ve had the best year possible, we’ve landed the title, done the double, whatever. Saudi clubs come in for Gabriel £60+ that’s when Berta can be judged on selling at the peak or holding on. Even Saliba with Madrid etc. god forbid either them sales though.
To your point, this will continue the exodus of these broadcasters. They think most don’t want a detailed analysis, or breakdown. Always rehashed cliched punditry. Suppose what you expect of ex pros long retired from the game. People will find other avenues and tune out more and more.
Yeah and when a club comes in for someone WE don’t want to go but get offered a good amount for. Then we can judge accordingly. So far it’s sales of fringe players, impossible task.
All it is, is having sellable assets when they’re at their most wanted. One day bids will come in for some of our favourites and that will dictate what and how we’re deemed. We don’t sell at the players pinnacle then we hold on too long. We’re have our “coutiniho” sale soon, then it will change.
He lists himself as a Millwall fan, which I think is a ruse. A lot of journalists seem to label their local club to distract whom they really really follow.
When we play Port Vale in a few weeks that would surely show the team Arteta believes to be the fringe and below, bar the odd first teamer here or there. Loads of rotation available. With injuries most games probably picks itself anyway.
