Oh I agree the fault is entirely with Etsy.

I also didn't mean that 'you' left a critical review, I just meant that Etsy interpreted it as a critical review, as anything less than 5 stars is deemed a failure on the sellers part.

Best to just contact the seller if an issue arises rather than leaving a review.

Critical reviews should be a last resort when contact fails between buyer & seller, but I agree that a 4 star review isn't bad in 'normal' eyes.

If you get a couple of 4 star reviews, it wipes out your 'star seller' badge for a whole month & reduces search visibility because Etsy thinks you're a terrible seller

Every review basically gives a buyer 4 chances to give a negative rating and only one chance to give a positive one

Anything less than a 5 star review results in the seller being punished by Etsy.

In Etsy's eyes, anything less than 5 stars means the seller must be shit
