I am pretty sure the last time I read a book directly because of a marketing effort on the part of the publisher as opposed to a post from the author or a recommendation from another reader was at a Scholastic Book Fair in grade school.
Hey, just letting everyone know that this lil guy very probably has a home unless multiple options fall through. Thanks again to everyone who's shared.
Hey, sorry for the slow response, I've been juggling various things. I have both an adopter and an understudy lined up for him!
IDK, he managed to pick the apartment to camp out in front of that would get him vet care out of a couple hundred units so I think he's crafttier than he lets on.
(To be clear, when I said "waste of time" I didn't mean "wah no one cares" but "I can't target things geographically on bsky", I realized that sounded kinda salty when I came back to add more pics. Thanks so much to everyone who has shared!)

Here's some more pics!

Er, DMs should be open now. >.>
Unfortunately, I'm not in their range, and the shelters around here are very strict on their county borders. My local animal shelter considers feral cats 'not their problem' and is the *reason* the adjacent counties have to be so strict about that policy, which is how I ended up with Too Many Cats.
Sure, DM me with anything you'd like to know!
Couch warmers who will ignore him or little dogs in his weight class? I think they'd be fine properly introduced. My friend's border collie who thinks herding cats is his collie? Stressful.
Unfortunately, no idea, since I have neither. Kids are almost certainly fine if they're old enough to get a cat's boundaries, he's never once scratched me. Dogs, he's only met people walking them outside, so he'll probably hide, but it likely depends on how big/energetic they are.
Having scrolled back to see the color of the horf in question, I totally agree that the russet would look sharp matching his mane.
I was thinking about it from the other direction and wondering if they brought it to the surface because swallowing at super-depth pressures is a bad idea for some reason.
I cannot keep him in the apartment indefinitely, I am unemployed and already have far too many fosters here that I've had no luck placing. I'm not asking for an adoption fee or any reimbursement for his neuter, I just don't want him to go back outside.
He's friendly with other cats (he was desperately trying to play with mine through the window before I trapped him) and has rapidly warmed up to humans since he realized being brushed is nice. He's also absurdly comfortable being handled for a cat I thought was feral.
I know this is a waste of time, but of anyone in the Bay Area can take on a cat, this ~5 month boy I trapped for TNR turned out to be way friendlier than I thought and also has a limp that does not pain him but can't be easily fixed.

Also, "we don’t generally question that." Are you kidding? You've just demonstrated that even a tepid "it's not for me" gets a whole-ass thinkpiece written about how you're a heartless monster for not wanting to deal with other people's screaming toddlers.
Since even the absolutely inoffensive "kids are okay but I don't want to be around them" is too far for you, I can only assume you're the kind of person who heard "it takes a village" and interpreted it as "everyone in my vicinity is supposed to drop everything to coddle my spoiled children."
Nah, you're deliberately missing the point. People who assert they don't like kids aren't doing it to be big meanies, they're doing it because they've been pressured have kids from their own childhood, and many parents seem to see any adult without their own children as "free emergency childcare."
It's been my maxim for a long time that if +1 Swords of Freezing are relatively trivial to acquire then the guy making them should be selling several dozen magic refrigerators for every magic sword.

Many D&D players will also get a kick out of an artificer running a magical Best Buy.
I can't believe the Lord of Lies would be so opaque about his organizational structure.
Back in the 90's, Cameron Chase and her sister saw a Green Lantern movie starring Mel Gibson as Hal Jordan. Which I'm very curious what kind of movie it was, given it was made just a couple years after the whole Parallax thing.
[A comic panel of crowd of people leaving a theatre under the marquee "IN DARKEST NIGHT: The Green Lantern Story." Two women in the foreground speaking.]
Terry: You are sooo wrong, Cam. Mel Gibson is such a hottie.
Cam: I'm not saying that Mel's not a total stud, Terry.
[Panel 2]
Cam: I'm just saying he was wrong for the part. Green Lantern wasn't anything like that. He wasn't so smooth and polished. He was... I dunno... rougher around the edges than that.
Using a hallucination as a reference is worse than useless.
...Who is NOT going straight for the self checkouts !?
