Democrats are expanding their probes into Trump's demolition of the East Wing and construction of his planned ballroom — pressing the White House and outside companies to explain the project's finances and what was promised to contributors.

The senators want a "complete accounting."
Democrats ramp up probes into Trump’s $300 million White House ballroom
Lawmakers are demanding answers about the project’s financing and what donors have been promised. The White House has defended its use of private donations.

💯. Guess you could call it a Strong silence
Saying we have a great relationship over and over sounds so desperate.
That whole debacle in 2020 was so bad Ira Glass did a ‘This American Life’ episode on it. I’ve been watching them closely.
He chose Ohio because they have a long deep history of election fuckery against democrats.

Mike Johnson allowing Jeffrey Epstein to keep Arizona’s 7th congressional district without representation for now nearly 8 months.

700,000 more Epstein victims thanks to enabler Mike Johnson, who has weaponized the files against them.
Hope this a Streisand effect.

FLAG: Progressive House candidate Kat Abughazaleh has been indicted on federal charges stemming from protests outside an ICE facility outside Chicago.

Abughazaleh called the charges "political prosecution" and a "gross attempt to silence dissent, a right protected under the First Amendment."
I agree 💯 with the Republican rant, although I wouldn’t agree with the mend story. They don’t have it exactly right. I’ve followed this and consumed the reporting by Empty Wheel. There is no magical moment that Changes anything.
The fact that they still use a thin veneer of ‘pretext’ to fire them is laughable.
OMG, are folks still thinking there was a magic moment that would have changed anything? #sheesh

New paper from me offering a holistic assessment of #SCOTUS's behavior on Trump-related emergency applications thus far:

papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

TL;DR: The ultimate theme of the decisions is a majority bent on preserving *their* supremacy, as such—which is likely to only be self-defeating.
When is she going to mention the farmers who use to grow soybeans anticipated another Trump term and switched to cattle innocent make up for them losses suffered under the first term? He’s screwing them twice. Bet they would vote for him again given the chance.
Because the word of any government official running point for Trump is meaningless. They all lie in service of them Orange menace.
Ellis: "The camera is your friend."

If someone throws a rock at your head, the camera will capture it. If someone throws fireworks at you, the camera will capture it. And then it won't just be your word.

That's what federal officials said happened on Friday.
As a Philadelphian, I thank you for the shout out to Goldenberg’s Peanut chews.

At 2pm Judge Xinis is holding a 'virtual' hearing on govt's new stated plan of sending Abrego Garcia to Liberia by 10/31. Abrego says it's too late to switch again & govt must 1st try Costa Rica (already offered, but only if he'd plead guilty). I'll try to live blog here for @lawfaremedia.org .
