Recently retired and at the moment living in Western Sydney. I have a long standing interest in the magical world of photography. Most photos taken with my post retirement new camera…[a Nikon Z8]….
Powerhouse museum transfer from Pyrmont to the flood plain of Parramatta River at Parramatta almost complete. The size and weight of the building should stop flood waters from sweeping it away however the basement will probably be inundated…. #parramatta #powerhouse #dharug

The milkcrate is almost built and ready for occupation. All the building needs now is a few finishing touch ups. #parramatta #dharug #powerhouse

While looking for fungi to upload to inatural I spotted a water dragon and a King Parrot. Even in the middle of a city, if given a chance, wildlife will survive. Always keep your eyes open…and not just to avoid being run over by a car.

Some puppies have been dumped beside a river in a town North West of New South Wales…. I mentioned it to a council worker and a ranger will no doubt pick them up in due time. Unfortunately we all know what will happen if they cannot be homed! #namoi

Another native bird caught up in our polluted environment. Could be oil. The Ibis does not seem to be in distress, probably very uncomfortable though! The gunk will, hopefully, eventually, wear off… #ibis #pollution #parramatta #environment

Coal fired steam…lots of coal used on this relatively short journey, in the old times a hell of a lot of coal must have been burned to keep the world moving… #steam #coal #trains #pollution #sydney #nostalgia

An introduced European Carp has infested all of Australia’s waterways. Compete vigorously with our native fish and always wins….they are a similar vermin problem as cane toads, rabbits etc. #carp #goldfish #vermin #fish #water #sydney #australia
