New pics of UPS Flight 2976 left engine separating from the wing of the MD-11F plane as it was taking off. Apparently the left pylon aft mount lug had fatigue cracking & overstress failure.
How this was not caught beforehand is troubling.

OMG in Alaska! Incredible!
Here's 1 of 2500+ photos I took last night. My camera is looking south south east. The aurora way brighter and faster last night compared to what I saw the previous night. This is just a teaser, as I have a lot of aurora content that is crunching on my computer now.

The Northern Lights are going nuts across the northern half of the USA.
But, of course, lake effect & clipper cloud coverage will mostly prevent viewing 🤬
There are a few breaks in the clouds between now and midnight. So, maybe? 🤞

Oneida Lake *might* be adding a little extra oomph to this mostly light spray of lake effect snow off of Lake Ontario.
There is definitely higher reflectivity in a band just east-southeast roughly of Oneida Lake that could cause enhanced snow in a moist atmosphere!
