Over the past few months I’ve been traveling all across the state visiting with Iowans. But if I haven’t met you yet, here’s my story—and why I stepped up to run for Secretary of State
Incredible turnout in Davenport for the No Kings rally. There were thousands from across the Quad Cities showing up, speaking out, and standing up for our rights. The movement for change doesn’t stop here. We’ll carry it to the ballot box.
During my time in the Navy I saw what good leadership looks like—and we need much better leadership over in Des Moines right now. As Secretary of State I’ll bring those lessons in leadership with me to work every single day.
I'm proud to have served our country in the Navy for over 10 years. Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Navy!
It was great to be out in rural Black Hawk County yesterday, speaking with Iowans and celebrating the accomplishments of some great local volunteers!
Peterman for Iowa: A dog friendly campaign! Paul Pate's... not so much...
Spent the weekend talking to voters in Poweshiek and Howard counties. As I continue traveling all across the state, it’s clear that Iowans want elections that are not only secure—but accessible too. We can, and must have both.
While I only had the privilege of meeting Senator Claire Celsi a few times, it was clear how fierce of an advocate she was for her community. Iowa lost a true fighter, who cared about improving the lives of everyone. I’m thinking of her family and friends during this difficult time.
The dysfunction in DC shows it’s time for new leadership across the board. I’m running for Secretary of State to bring a much-needed new and fresh perspective to Des Moines.
It was great to participate in the Eastern Iowa rural revival candidate forum on Sunday. So many great questions and conversations, including our discussion about the need to ensure every eligible voter in both urban and rural Iowa has access to the ballot box.
Such a fun night in Iowa City last night walking in the University of Iowa homecoming parade with the @johnsoncountydems.bsky.social! Go Hawks!
Mistakes like these are frustrating for everyone. Our election officials work hard, and they deserve a Secretary of State who will be a true partner. That means not just providing training and walking away, but offering clear guidance and ongoing support. www.thegazette.com/campaigns-el...
34 Iowa candidates will not be on November ballot after missed deadline
Thirty-four school board and city candidates across seven Iowa counties will not be listed on the ballot in the November election due to errors made by filing officers.

It was wonderful to be back in northwest Iowa last night. A packed house in Le Mars made for some great conversations about the future of our state.

Thank you to everyone who braved the storm last night in Mason City and made it out to Pints and Politics to chat about how important this Secretary of State race is.
Had a blast at the Marion County Iowa Democrats annual pie auction. Great to see so many people that were just as fired up about Iowa politics as they were for the pies!
It's now been one month since President Trump threatened mail-in voting. Meanwhile, Paul Pate still refuses to say whether he'll protect that right here in Iowa. I promise, as Secretary of State, I will stand up to this attack, and always protect your right to vote.
Thrilled to have the endorsement of Iowa’s newest State Senator, Catelin Drey! Last month, Catelin flipped a Republican-held seat in Sioux City. Her race shows Iowans are ready for change, and I’m grateful to have her on team Peterman!
Happy #NationalVoterRegistrationDay! 🗳️ Your voice matters—and voting is how you can make it heard. The first step is making sure you’re registered. Visit iwillvote.com today to make sure you’re ready to cast your ballot!
It was an honor to attend the Polk County Democrats Steak Fry this afternoon. Met with so many great Iowans—and of course had to flip some steaks too!
On this day, we remember the lives lost on 9/11, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families who still carry that loss. We also remember the unity we felt as a nation. May we honor them not just in memory, but by striving to be worthy of their sacrifice.
The murder of Charlie Kirk is tragic and unacceptable. Political violence has no place in our country. It’s time to move past the divisiveness that fuels this and commit to never letting it happen again. My prayers are with his loved ones.
It was so good to meet with folks in Waterloo yesterday for a meet and greet house party! If you’d like to bring your friends and neighbors together to hear about our campaign, I’d love to join you—just email [email protected] to request to host a house party or meet and greet for us!
What a perfect night in northern Iowa last night! Hundreds of folks came out to hear from some great candidates, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have spent the evening with everyone!
Had a great time in my hometown Bettendorf last night, helping to kick off Nikhil Wagle’s State Senate campaign! When I’m Secretary of State, I’ll need great partners in the legislature, and I have no doubt Nikhil will be just that.
