Private equity takeover of US hospitals led to rise in patient deaths.

Cuts to staffing/investment; high debt, profiteering; worse patient outcomes.

More deaths in nursing homes, increased post-operative complications

Why is UK Govt handing the NHS to PE? Why no investigation of the impact of PE?

Study found seven more deaths per 10,000 patients in private equity hospitals’ versus non-private equity hospitals

Whilst I’ve never liked the tories I’d have to say that not all of them were at least in their own minds not a bunch of unpleasant crooks. Now however I can’t think of any that remain that I’d say that of.

As renewables overtake coal as the world's largest source of electricity, what did we get from the Tory conference?

- repeal the Climate Change Act
- scrap 2050 net-zero target
- remove renewable energy subsidies
- maximise oil and gas extraction from the North Sea

They are so out of touch!

Glad to see Nigel Farage has finally remembered Nathan Gill, former leader of Reform in Wales - found guilty of taking bribes from Russia.

Maybe he'll now remember how much he took from Putin's propaganda broadcaster Russia Today for all his TV appearances when he was a MEP?

Can't rebuild economy without increasing worker share of GDP.

Some suggestions:
Join a union
Strengthen collective bargaining
Need real Living Wage.
Worker-elected directors on company boards
Worker vote on exec pay
Exec bonus schemes must apply to workers
Limit corporate tax relief on exec pay
The government must ensure fair distribution of income
'The average real wage of workers has hardly moved from the 2008 level whilst bosses never had it so good.'

Keir Starmer's currently sat looking at some papers, the buzzing in his head is getting louder. Saying "Stop Making Mistakes" over and over as he ponders whether it was a good idea to bet the entire UK economy on magic beans.

Tories love segregation when it suits them. Private + public schools, elite universities (sic), private institutions and clubs, expensive gated communities. They’re not interested in integration for any other reason than the dilution of cultures other than theirs, which they protect fiercely #c4news

David is slightly unfair. There is a clear difference here.

Conservatives and Reform plan to forcibly expel large numbers of people who are legal, permanent residents of migrant origin. The BNP proposal is voluntary.
