For the 50 yrs I've been voting, in my conversations with right of centre friends it's always been 'anyone but Labour'. I'm a Liberal of the TH Green variety (without the religion) and in the same vein, 'anyone but the tories', vote Labour.
So it may be populist but it's still 'anyone but Labour'.

The problem with UK politics is that the electorate on the right will vote for the strongest right wing party just to keep Labour out. If you split the left/centre left vote Reform will win and possibly with a working maj.
Having said that I'm not a political analyst.

He obviously wants a military answerable to him and the GOP rather than to the constitution. In effect a military dictatorship.
If that happens history shows it's a long term struggle to regain democracy. I fear for the US and its liberal population.
