I’m here to announce I have entered my Gothic fiction reading era. It originally started with Wuthering Heights when I was in middle school, but then I got sidetracked with epic and high fantasy reads. I read The Picture of Dorian Gray recently and it put me back on the Gothic train. ☠️

I haven’t read the series since it first released. I lost my original copies but I have books 1-3 I got from a booksale. I know the series got a lot of flack from older fantasy readers, but since I had never read LOTR beforehand, everything from the book was new and magical to me at the time.

Also, I’ve been doing a lot of in-depth reading and annotating lately. Still struggling with the phone-grabbing habit but I recently realized I can carry a small paperback in my purse. I am trying to make it a habit to reach for my book instead of my phone.

Hello! I’m still here and to report that removing social media apps from my phone was a good choice after all. I’m still making art and in the process of setting up my website to share sometime this year. My next challenge is getting out of the habit of reaching for my phone when waiting in line!

Hello! I’m still here and to report that removing social media apps from my phone was a good choice after all. I’m still making art and in the process of setting up my website to share sometime this year. My next challenge is getting out of the habit of reaching for my phone when waiting in line!

I’ve taken social media apps off my phone and I hate to say that it has, in fact, been good for me 😅I can still access things from my laptop, but since that requires turning on the machine and logging in, it has been a good self-imposed barrier.

#Pleinair time! Went to local island to paint with a smaller pochade box. Big lesson learned: bring a chair (or towel) to the beach. I sat on my backpack as an alternative. Knowing how brutally honest they can be, having a kid compliment my WIP was worth the sand. #oilpainting
