that lucy has THREE suitors makes the cast incredibly unbalanced, so it makes more sense for the lucy character to be married and for one of the suitors to be repurposed into just a doctor, and the other left out entirely

my working theory as to why nosferatu (2024) is a nosferatu adaptation instead of a dracula adaptation is that eggers didn't want to have to deal with all of lucy's suitors
