#Israel #Palestine #Gaza 🌍 Mahmoud Darwish was a writer regarded as Palestine’s national poet.

Darwish was active in the Middle East peace process. While critical of Israeli and Palestinian leadership, he still believed peace was possible. He wrote Palestine's 1988 Declaration of Independence.

Russell Banks was an American poet and writer. He was the recipient of the John Dos Passos Prize for fiction in 1985 and was twice a finalist for the Pulitzer prize in 1986 and 1999 for his novels Continental Drift and Cloudsplitter respectively.
