long story short: vannifar is a very underrated character. like look at her, an elf ooze wizard! what a cool thing to be proud of magic having.

in general, i agree that commander should be banned, but i understand why that would make a lot of people mad
do it with the front of the card too
i think the general argument against giga sets like that is that dropping that mountain of cards on players all at once would be overwhelming. especially in 2005.

Legendary creature used to mean something. A wacky ability with a very niche use, a line of rules text so great you cannot stop thinking about, effect so demolishing to both you and the opponent you would cry tears of joy once the opp removes it from the board. Now it’s printed on every other card 👺
would be even better if at least one of these planes get two whole sets that are connected in interesting ways

I feel like this coincides with an appeal of the game being finding hidden gems amongst cards to shake up the meta/commander games. Once it’s meta it’s unpopular.
what am i talking about, you may ask?
Honestly these textless cards feel like the culmination of the many oversimplification attempts at the Magic card design that really mirrors how the tech industry oversimplifies a lot of user interfaces that works just fine to the rounded corner mess we're in now.
here's what i mean when i talk about a showcase frame complementing the artwork.
Personally, my additional issue with these frameless cards is that they are just completely devoid of personality. Like wasn't the whole point of having a different frame is to complement the artwork, not just being like "Look at the art, we won't help"?
honestly i wish all these arena exclusive cards get paper quality renders like what the ancient MTGO exclusive cards used to get
i would like a whole set of that, and let's call it, drums roll, Aetherdrip
