In the same vein I let my son dress up as the black panther for Halloween. Again a character and not a culture. And just to clarify we did not use make up, just the outfit. Telling a 4 year old they can't be their favorite disney princess for Halloween is a tall order.

My kids are all older now but I did struggle somewhat with this in the context of Moana when my daughter was younger. I wondered if there was a difference of using a culture as costume and dressing up as a specific person or character. Personally I think there is...

When the military helicopters started flying over my home in western NC after Helene the relief was so huge. I knew my neighbors and I would have water and food. The national guard landed in the school playing field and unloaded vital supplies. How different the world is a year later.

I can’t believe we are being governed by emojis.

And Cash admired him right back. His words on the back of Nashville skyline were beautiful. And he covered Dylan as well.

🤔 Cash was a devout Christian. after June died I heard an interview with him. He was so certain she was in heaven and he would be seeing her soon when he talked about her death it was like she had taken a bus to another town and he was just waiting for his bus to take him to her.

Come on. That can’t be remotely true. Modern Times was a #1 album! Love and theft had a difficult release date but was also well loved.

And of course I don’t mean “problem” at all. Keep on writing Bob!

The peoblem with those books is that he keep writing songs! I have one from the 80s and 2000s I think. Need an up to date one now!

I was born in the late 70s but I certainly spent my whole life thinking they were both pretty damn cool.

I actually actively block accounts that disparage Dylan’s voice. I know they will have nothing to say after that I could possibly respect.

His speech at the musicares concert honoring him (2015 maybe?) connected the dots between what he was listening to and how those songs turned into some of his most beloved numbers. We watched the concert streamed live and have been waiting years for a DVD release to no avail!

Family movie night with all three teenagers in attendance! What could be cooler?

I’ve had more than one argument with individuals who insisted knocking on heavens door was an original guns and roses song. I’m more forgiving to those who think Hendrix wrote watchtower. At least his cover was great.

Pretty cool. Thanks for posting.

I love this album. Listened to it constantly my junior year in college!

Reading that comment about Swifts understanding of Hamlet made think of Cate Bush and her song Wuthering Heights and made me giggle. I think criticism of music has changed over the decades.

Dylan literally has an (amazingly awesome and brilliant) album titled “Love And Theft”!!

My second son was pretty baby and everyone always thought he was a girl. We also just said thanks. He stayed pretty and grew his hair long at 13. Again people assumed he was a girl. He never bothered to correct them either. Now he’s 16 & still pretty but no one mistakes him for a girl anymore.

Gigantic and fluffy!!

FFS, abortion bans, attacks on birth control, discussions about ending women’s suffrage….i would think they would welcome Sharia Law.

We saw this last night. I don’t think del toro has ever been more delightful in film. IMO he was the hero of the piece. Certainly he and his network seemed the only ones to be accomplishing anything. Definitely made the point that the US runs on the work of immigrants.

Should I know who this is?

Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed reading the interview.
