"The Scene" is the fantasy within a CNC framework.

a lot of his story is reclaiming his ability to choose for himself. who to love, how to act, where he goes, what he does, what he studies. All of it was meant to be decided by his father.

sending him off to medical school ended up showing him what freedom is

Specchio Mediano is a devoted - pathetically so - gangster whose fall into the lifestyle came from a family that accepted him and the man who gave him a second AND third chance at life.

To me, he mostly is an avenue for comfort. Having a found family who loves you via his existence is a blessing.
