Today, I met a young drag queen from the U.K. named Faggie Smith. With a name that good, she’s clearly one to keep a very close eye on.

For @theguardian.com I dug into the incredible life and mysterious death of drag icon Heklina, who was found dead in an apartment in 'unexpected' circumstances. Peaches and many other drag legends helped me tell the story of Heklina's amazing life and the questions remaining around her death.
Incredible article about Heklina in the The Guardian about her iconic legacy. If you ever saw her light up a stage, ever felt the impact of Trannyshack, ever loved SF drag because it was fearless and dangerous and hilarious and alive- this is essential reading.

The performer was found dead in ‘unexpected’ circumstances in her London flat in 2023. Why are her loved ones still waiting for an explanation?

The Epstein revelations keep deepening and the silence from the MAGA cult gets louder. At what point does anyone admit this is indefensible and step away?

Will never stop loving FRANKENHOOKER. Filthy, perfect midnight movie cinema. Remember the VHS box w/the button that said “Wanna date?” ICONIC. And when All About Evil screened in NYC, Frank Henenlotter appeared and I about died from a panic attack. Thankfully he told me he loved it.

Bringing our beloved SHOWGIRLS spectacular back to the Castro and it’s going to be pure, horny glamour. Big screen decadence, live Goddess worship, & a room full of filthy little devotees ready for a FREE lapdance. SF, we’re doing this again.

Loved The Bone Temple, and not just for the alpha peen. Ralph Fiennes fully executed a drag number so good it resurrected my memories of Metal Patricia at the Russian River Massacre around 2001. IYKYK on all counts.

Primary all seven Democrats who voted alongside Republicans to further fund ICE. Say GOODBYE to representatives Tom Suozzi (New York), Henry Cuellar (Texas), Don Davis (North Carolina), Laura Gillen (New York), Jared Golden (Maine), Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), and Marie Glusenkamp Perez (Washington).
January 25, 2026 at 12:03 AM
So fucked up. A five-year-old imprisoned by ICE is an indictment of our entire country. Please let this be a rock-bottom nightmare we survive, reckon with, and ultimately hold people accountable for their vile, anti-human behavior.

Only interested in supporting candidates who refuse corporate money. Corporate Democrats serve corporate interests. Between corporations, religion, & billionaires, this country has fucked itself. I use End Citizens United and Justice Dems. What other tools help vet truly grassroots candidates?

Opening Drag Academy with It’s a Sin by @petshopboys.co.uk felt like a queer homecoming. Not only was it the 1st number I performed at Trannyshack in 1996 but I was 13 when it came out and obsessed doesn’t quite cover it. At 17, I saw the PSB on the Performance Tour in D.C., and EVERYTHING clicked.

Drag Academy at Stanford Live was pure joy. Huge love to Professors BeBe Sweetbriar & Fauxnique, and stunning students Uranus Stardust, KARMIKA, and Militta. Special pride for my daughter Lavender stepping in last minute and shining. Celebrating queer music history matters now more than ever. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Having been gay-bashed, watching an ICE agent murder a queer woman as her wife begged her to drive away is horrific. It traumatizes queer people who’ve lived w/ this threat since youth. We know if our attackers had guns + authority, we wouldn’t be here. He couldn’t let a gay woman have the last word
