A bit of architecture in Alcúdia, Mallorca. The harsh daylight and the white structure with its distinct shape made for a nice black and white photo I think.
A couple more shots of the sunrise at Alcúdia, Mallorca a couple of weeks back. Must admit I'm a bit of a sucker for sunrises, even if they're easy targets in a way. But hey, they're there to be photographed, right?
Every summer I like to do a hike from Øye in Vang, through Rødalen over the mountains to Tyinkrysset. About 18 km, reasonably good trail all the way. And once passing the last cabin you get this nice view of the valley you just passed through. This photo was made during this years hike.
The seemingly most unintersting scene might require just a little bit of editing to become.. well, art? Like a sailingboat in the distance in broad daylight and no particularly interesting surroundings. Convert to black and white and work a bit on the light and the sea surface, and here's the result
Tried my hand at some black and white, minimalistic long exposure during our stay at Alcúdia, Mallorca. Shot in the middle of the day with a 10 stop filter. Rather pleased with the result.
Clouds over mountains. Nature's beauty. Jotunheim.
Water flows, bikes parked, Amsterdam shines
Seasons change, winter soon, mountains beckoning
Golden morning, memories made, life's purpose
Dandelion delight, summer spent, autumn now
Morning light, promises made, day delivered. (a six word story as context, probably ruined by this explanation)
I suppose the number of photos of yesterday's lunar ecluos/bloodmoon flooding the Internet is infinite. But given it will be another three years and three months until we get the chance to see one again here in Bergen, Norway, I made my contribution as well. And here it is.
Waterfall in Skakadalen, Vang in Valdres, Norway.
Not sure if these photos qualify as street, but at least they're urban. Amsterdam, the metro and outside van Gogh Museum. I liked the reflection in the big cube and thought it presented even better with the surroundings in black and white. And the metro map as a face - well that speaks for itself.
One of the last things I did this summer was hiking up to the summit of Store Soleibotntind in Jotunheimen. A little bit of scrambling involved as well. At 2083 m a s you get quite a good view of the surroundings, weather permitting. It did, as I hope the photos show.
My local favourite waterfall near Tyinkrysset, Norwayland, not far from our cabin. I often return to this spot to photograph it. This is a longexposure of 1/5 of a second, handheld.
Last batch of photos from the Redbull Wake the City challenge. I think I had more fun shooting than watching. Probably because I was more focused on the shooting 😅. Still nice though both to watch and get some action style photos
Sometimes photos work best in portrait orientation, sometimes in landscape. I'm not quite sure what is the deciding factor for the one or the other. Mostly I just choose what I like 😊. Here's another set of photos from the Redbull Wake the City challenge last weekend here in Bergen.
Another day, another hike. And a nice surprise: Suddenly a small flock of reindeer appeared. Almost as if planned (it wasn't). And on top of that, what I suppose was the leader of the flock placed himself against a backdrop of mountains, almost as if posing for a photo.
I just about manged to get some photos, including drone shots, before the rain started. This is a drone pano made by stitching several drone photos. Obviously it's a bit warped due to the stitching.
Yesterday I hiked to Skjoeld which is a summit and a cliff overlooking the lake Vangsmjoesa in the Valdres region of Norway. The hike is about 10 km there and back again, and it ascends about 600 meters to 1577 m a s. The weather was very nice at the outset, but during the hike up turned a bit.
Meet the locals. Came across a flock of reindeer when returning from an attempt to photograph the sunset in Jotunheimen. BTW, these are tame reindeer, not wild. Well, tame, they will run away if you approach them. Nice to come across them though 😊
The Library at Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Hard to get a good angle/composition though. Lens too wide - too much distortion and clutter. Lens too narrow - you don't get the real sense of the place. This was the best I could do within the limitations posed by both gear and restricted area to move in.
By the Amstel. Locals (I suppose) and tourists alike, enjoying a warm, sunny day by the Amstel in Amsterdam. Thought this worked very well in black and white.
