This thread is frighteningly accurate. I’ve been teaching at the college level for almost 30 years and my colleagues and I have these discussions seemingly daily.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

This is a great thread, and it accurately encapsulates my feelings around weight. I've yo-yo'd so much in my life that I should have a string attached to my back. I'm 56. I'm gonna be as healthy as I can, and as happy as I can, and not worry about weight (as much as I can).
I see that Lizzo has an essay out about weight loss and “why are all the big girls losing weight” and she mentions the Ozempic Boom and … I’m tired.

And just concentrate on this one statement. To say that $2k isn’t a substantial amount for anyone is WILD. My brother in Christ, you must be living in a Mich different world than most of the people I know.

$2000 isn’t even a substantial amount of money anymore for anybody. It’s maybe 2 months of rent for some of the poorest people. It’s not loan forgiveness. It’s far below most deductibles for healthcare. It’s pennies being thrown at Americans as a distraction.
