My drawings from Sunday's Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall.
On Saturday morning, I went along to a 3-hour life drawing class hosted by Connie Lim in her studio in Dalston, with excellent poses Ben, with various outfit changes during the session.

It's always a fun challenge to capture both the pose and the different clothing within a set amount of time.
Joined the Urban Sketchers on the Southbank on Saturday. As I grabbed something to eat from the food market behind the Royal Festival Hall, I noticed this view looking up towards the Hayward Gaallery - my favourite gallery in London! - and decided to draw it.
Went along to a terrific free life drawing event at the Royal Academy Lecture Theatre on Friday evening, hosted by 2bornot2bcollective, and Inspired by the Kerry James Marshall: The Histories exhibition, with stage dressing and costumes referencing his Souvenir series.
One of the reasons I'm not doing #inktober this year is because I'm spending too much time playing Silksong.

Although that would fit quite well with today's prompt, Weave...
I'm not doing #Inktober this year, but I couldn't resist a quick doodle for today's prompt, Moustache...
My drawings from last Friday's Gosh! Drink & Draw. The themes were:

Ninja penguin
Misheard lyrics
Flower
A bumper crop of drawings from Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall the other Sunday. Every time I was thinking about leaving, I looked outside and it was pouring down, so ended up staying until the end of the session.
I had fun the other Sunday morning at a life drawing class with ESEA Life Drawing.

It was fun to be experimental and join in with various prompts including drawing with my non-dominant hand, drawing without looking at my paper, using a continuous line, and even combining all three at once! Phew!
Last Friday, I went along to the National Portrait Gallery to try to get tickets for the Jenny Saville exhibition but could only get a ticket for 8pm, as had 3 and a half hours to spare, I had a wander around the main collection and stumbled across a free drawing workshop in the galleries.
My drawings from the most recent Gosh/Broken Frontier Drink & Draw.

The themes were:

1. Bunny
2. Myriad Demons of the Supermarket
3. A non-literal depiction of a scene from your favourite film

And there's a bonus 'Draw A Shrek From Memory' at the end, which was something our table came up with.
My drawings from last Sunday afternoon's Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall.
My drawings from Sunday afternoon's Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall. I like trying to capture the whole pose during the 15 minutes as I feel it gives a better sense of the person.
On Saturday morning, I went along and drew the Royal Albert Hall with Urban Sketchers London. This was a two and a half hour drawing.
My drawings from Sunday afternoon's Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall. A fun session and I managed to make it through to the end!
My drawings from this month's Gosh!/Broken Frontier Drink And Draw. The themes were:

Bizarre Adventure
Wellness Of The Living Dead
Dungeons And Dragons
Gosh!/Broken Frontier's Drink & Draw finally returned to being In-Person last month.

Each month three guest artists take it in turns to pick a theme and then you have half an hour to draw.
Here's last month's drawings for the following themes:

Molotov Cocktail Party
Get To The Tower
Fairy Holiday
Yesterday afternoon I made it along to Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall after not having made it along at all last month.

I was feeling pretty tired at the start and was just drawing small portraits before getting a bit more into it and drawing full poses. Nice to be back! 😊
What do you say? I've appealed some and they've changed them, but others they just seem to refuse to do anything.
Had a great time last Wednesday evening drawing with LetsDrawNow.LDN at Underbelly Boulevard in Soho, with fantastic poses by Yishu.

I'm really pleased with how these drawings turned out, and I even won a prize! 😊 You can see the full set over on my Instagram - @paulshinndraws over there as well.
Yes, it's much better than the alternative, but maybe a bit too restrictive. I'll still post my other drawings here.
As @bsky.app seems determined to label any of my nude life drawings I post as Sexually Suggestive Adult Content and does nothing about it until I appeal about 3 or 4 times, I think I'm done with trying to post them on here 😞
On Saturday morning, I went along to an intuitive ink workshop at Connie Lim's studio, with live demonstrations by Nicasio Torres visiting from Spain. Over 3 hours, we followed along with various exercises exploring gesture, flow and texture using Indian ink and water.
Last Wednesday, I went along to a life drawing session at Leighton House run by 2bornot2bcollective, with excellent poses from Mister Sweezy. In the second half there were longer poses inspired by Leighton's sculpture 'An Athlete Wrestling With A Python'. Fortunately it was only a toy snake! 🐍
Thanks. It was fun, but very hot! 🥵
