Nick Robinson’s pudcast Political Tinkering with the Badenoch, ‘shooting from the hip’ … & missing the point

Always thought Political Thinking was an interview series looking at the biographical events that shapes an individual’s politics,

not an opportunity to trash everyone not agreeing with you

How many run-ups has Badenoch been given to get her political thinking across?

Shoddy journalism #r4Today

we reported after Rayner's departure that employment rights bill would be watered down, and ministers denied it over and over again:

here is the first new major compromise:

Kamala Harris, not ‘Karmala’

& ‘Trump’ should also read ‘Orangeutan in Chief’, of course

Apologies #R4today
Listening to Michael Prescott at the Select Committee asking why for balance the BBC hadn’t also included a Karmala Harris doc alongside the critical Trump program just shows the BBC still believes impartiality is achieved by giving equal credence to both sides over the facts if the matter #r4today

Which Nick Robinson will be interviewing Rachel Reeves on #r4today - the journalist, or the Tory campaigner?
November 27, 2025 at 8:18 AM
Great listening to Chris Packham on #r4today

Looks like I’m going to have to break my personal ban on listening to BBC podcasts (you’ve FOURTEEN DAB channels BBC!!) & listen to Amol’s Radicals [hangs head in despair]

The more I hear the Tories hysterical “Hell in a handcart” assessment of the Labour’s handling of the economy,

the more I suspect they’ve been waiting for about 14years for the chance to say it

Think the easier phrase to use would be ‘wealth taxes’?

3p/mile for Electric, 1.5p/mile for hybrids

Insane way to penalise rural dwellers who, almost certainly have no reliable alternative public transport option

These are the very people we need to encourage to switch (town & city folk can take the bloody train) #wato #politicslive

All true & well #wato to point out that the overall tax burden has gone up since the pandemic

But that only confirms that not only are we going to be paying for the pandemic for decades,

but how the Tories were running a funding (tax) shortfall despite austerity: Bloody shameful!

& The coveted #R4today 8:10 interview slot goes to ….. BBC journos Chris Mason & Faisal Islam

I’m no expert (obviously) but if it was my government I’d want a senior spokesperson on to set the tone for the day

Hard to get my head around just how poor this Labour lot are at communication

Er … Men are drawn socially to male posturing & language?

Women wanting their posts to be shared more by men adopt male posturing & language?
