Here's a new problem - finding artists to create game assets who don't use GenAI. There are so many scammers claiming to produce hand crafted content when they're just zero talent hacks using AI. 😡

I used to really like Affinity Photo, but after using Krita for a while I've realized that it actually sucks and Krita has a way better workflow for digital art.

While I'm not quite at the point of losing my house, the harm ai has done to my animation work income is huge, like 80% gone and it makes me wonder how many freelance artists and animators ARE losing everything while billionaire con men continue to rake it in.

Geez - I didn't realize how much construction was going on just inland on the north coast. The entire area between Umhlanga and Mt Edgecombe is being excavated, new bridges and roads everywhere. Not on the scale of the N3 corridor construction, but still massive. 😲

It took me a long time to learn that using a fixed palette, even for pixel art, is a bad idea for game art. Rather just do whatever works best and maybe extract a palette for further expansion later (but probably not).

Just over 30 years ago I took a short (3 month) break from my graduate studies (I was burnt out) and created an epic 2D top down shooter, which is sadly lost forever. Today I'm starting a recreation of that game, which will hopefully be true to the original. 😍
