That's EXACTLY what I did with the lady last week! It took me 5 minutes to find info for her. In this case, she had an 11 y/o son who wrote a book & they wanted to hire me to illustrate it. Same too that it was a friend of someone who did something for me. And I wanted to encourage the kid. But man!

There's no need to bother a creative anymore, given all the info that is out there. Heck, if they have some money, they can hire a coach who will guide them. Or take one of the many courses out there. Sorry for your bad experience. Everybody else asking pays for it because of their rude behaviour.

(PS: I used to have a page on my website for this. Then I had an email I would just copy and paste. I spent my time answering someone recently though...then no reply or thanks. No more! People don't research anymore apparently.)

somebody emailed me to ask for tips on finding style, so i'm gonna share my thoughts here, too: first of all, don't worry about what you're good at it, or what you want your art to look like. figure out what's fun about the /process/ for you and lean into those elements!

Ah! Well, one rule of thumb I (try to) do is not to make the work any harder that it already is, or create more work for myself if I don't have to (Do I listen to myself though...?😂😉) However, I get it. The idea sounds cute! 👍😍
