I see this as a common problem in #evaluation too - premature focus on statistical significance of differences in means without checking distributions (bi-modal? skewed?) or bivariate or multivariate patterns. Something I used to emphasise when teaching statistics to students.

Thank you @guerzovich.bsky.social for this great bringing together of #rubrics and #theoryofchange with an important addition - #typologies! It all makes such sense now - and shows the value of simple cataloguing as an initial task in #qualitativedatanalysis. #evaluation #impactevaluation
🤔 Are you using a screwdriver to evaluate your portfolio when a Swiss army knife is needed?

🛠️ Ideas on mixing and matching rubrics, typologies, & theories of change to tailor assessment for decision-making.

Evidence of effectiveness in relation to stated policy goal is clearly not sufficient.
If President Trump actually cared about making America safer, he would work to #EndGunViolence.

Yet the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention’s website is already down.

Congratulations to @sabincenter.bsky.social for creating three online tools to track decisions and actions of the new USA government - an important contribution to #accountability.
🚨 🚀🌍 Today, the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law is launching three online tools – the Climate Backtracker, the Inflation Reduction Act Tracker & the Silencing Science Tracker – to keep tabs on the Trump administration’s climate rollbacks & anti-science actions: https://buff.ly/4jsf5HJ
